In the past week we made some improvement to our power pack. Our flight tests keep getting higher, longer and more stable. The ropes you see in the picture do not really have a function other then act as safeguard should something go wrong.
It raises the question, when does a test with a person flying a tethered aircraft stop being just a test and become a manned flight?
We've been working in the past days to install and configure the final 4 drives and finished yesterday. Today we wanted to test if this configuration could lift an adult male of 85kg. Weather conditions left much to be desired with occasional showers and gusty winds. We did however manage to do some tethered lift-off and hover tests. Good progress towards our first manned flight!
